Paper Handling

Thermal Printing

The mechanics of thermal printing is a key ingredient in the robust design of thermal printers. We use state of the art computer simulations to predict and optimize key printing parameters such as nip pressure, head load, platen design and material property selection. In addition, we specialize in providing design solutions to the industry wide problem of ribbon wrinkling.

Wrinkle Removal

Removal of ribbon wrinkling through optimum tension control, shaft alignment, and minimization of thermal loading.

Nip Mechanics

Modeling of the contact region between the print head, donor, receiver and platen.
